An inflicted sigh

A fog filled breath

I struggle to resist

The cozy comfort of my bed

A mug of coffee

Light from the lamp

Pile of notes

for ongoing exams

Blur in the haze

The school bus honks

The lunchbox falls

The uniform calls

All little moments of bygone days

I crave your touch

Miss our cuddles

Hope to snuggle

In a familiar reminiscent smell

Lost in a shared blanket of love

The alarm beeps;

Reminder repeats

The dawn gives way

to nascent sun rays 

Through window of memories

Amidst the mist

and drops of dew

Early winter morning in December

I lay my feet cold on the ground

Hold on to memories

In hope of warmth

The wind blows close

I hear it whisper

Leaves have dried, now let go.
